Spider Roof Machines
Major advantages of Spider Roof Machines:
- Efficient, high productivity system
- Low maintenance costs
- Simple and safe to operate
- Easily accommodates challenging aesthetic considerations
- Wide
range of solutions
Another
major difference is that Spider roof machines contain a drum
hoist. Therefore, a platform suspended from a roof machine is referred to as "gondola" or "cradle" because
it does not contain a hoisting device.
Fully Powered Roof Machines
Spider
roof machines are a safe and efficient permanent means of
accessing the exterior of a building structure. Unlike
fixed in place rigging systems and self-powered platforms,
a roof machines' range of motion is electrically and/or hydraulically
powered and enables an operator to move into the optimum
access position with minimum effort.
Spider
roof machines only use the highest quality drum hoists that
are protected from the elements and easy on wire rope. This
system prolongs the life of the machine and reduces maintenance
costs.
In general, these systems are most effective in the following conditions:
- The
maximum outreach required for façade access is greater
than 102 inches (3 meters.)
- The roof top has a clear path that is 10 feet wide around the building from the inside of the parapet wall.
- Owner values long asset life and low operating expense.
- Building elevation is greater than 490 feet.
