Spider Dismantles 10-Story Banner
November 13, 2007
Seattle, WA – Spider, a division of SafeWorks, LLC, recently supplied suspended access equipment and rigging services to dismantle a 10-story tall Nike® advertisement featuring NBA stand-out, LeBron James, on the Sherwin Williams Building – Town Square in Cleveland.
In December 2005, Spider rented a variety of hoists, platforms and accessories to the contractor responsible for erecting the massive advertisement. Now, two years later, what went up must come down. Bricklayers Inc. recently rented fourteen Zmac® hoists, twelve 10-foot modular platforms, eleven 5-foot modular platforms and several OBSF rigging frames to dismantle the banner. Spider's Cleveland team of experts supervised the rigging and dismantling.
The 2,700 pound mesh banner, which boasted a height of 110 feet and a width of 212 feet, has been a tourist attraction in Cleveland for the past two years.
John Sotiroff, Spider's Vice President Sales and Distribution, stated, "For over sixty years, contractors have been turning to the market leader for their complex, one-of-a-kind access challenges, and for over sixty years, Spider has been delivering on our commitment to high quality products and expert service. As evidenced by Cleveland's banner project, Spider can be counted on for all stages of the job, from beginning to end."
