Spider Presents at BOMA Seminar

January 31, 2006

Seattle, WA - Spider, a division of California Safeworks L.P., was invited to present at the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) Window Cleaning and Exterior Maintenance Seminar in San Francisco.

The seminar was designed to educate commercial property owners, managers, architects and contractors about California's requirements for safe window washing and the industry's best practices for maintaining exterior surfaces and windows. An overview of the current California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal OSHA) regulations were addressed to equip those in attendance with the information necessary to comply with the state's safety laws.

Mike Dahlquist, West Area Director for Spider, discussed selection of equipment as part of an access plan for mid and high rise buildings. Drawing from more than twenty years experience in high rise project and safety management, Mike focused on definitions of equipment that meet the requirements for buildings in California, based on varying building heights. He also discussed requirements for maintenance and inspection of equipment once it has been put into service.

Ken Cleaveland, Director of Government and Public Affairs of BOMA in San Francisco, spoke favorably regarding Spider's contributions: "The seminar was a great success, in part because of the knowledgeable speakers on hand like Mike. He certainly knew the industry and regulations, and provided useful guidance to those in attendance."
