SafeWorks Leaders Serve on Industry Association Boards

January 18, 2006

Seattle, WA - SafeWorks exemplifies its market leadership and devotion to key industry issues by holding numerous positions on the boards and committees of industry-governing associations.

Liz Callahan, Vice President, Temporary Access Solutions, has been actively involved in the Scaffold Industry Association (SIA) for several years. She currently serves on the executive committee as Treasurer, responsible for a $1.4 million budget including both fiscal and administrative duties. She is also a member of the Strategic Planning Committee and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. In addition, Liz serves on the Board of Trustees for the Scaffolding, Shoring & Forming Institute (SSFI).

Mike Dahlquist, Area Director for Spider, serves on an Advisory Committee formed by the California Occupational Safety and Health Association (Cal-OSHA) Standards Board. His role specifically involves debating proposed revisions and amendments to the Title 8 GISO Window Washing Standards for the State of California. Decisions made at the California State level will likely have national implications with consensus standard bodies such as American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Mike's thorough understanding of standards and codes enables him to effectively recommend actions to improve worker safety and compliance. On a national level, Mike also sits on the International Window Cleaning Association (IWCA)/ANSI I 14.1 Window Cleaning Safety Standards Committee.

Spider is also represented by others who participate in industry associations. Keenan Potter, Manager Spider Permanent Installations Group, and Gavin Bricknell, Director of Engineering, are committee members for the ASME A120.1 standard regarding safety requirements for powered platforms for building maintenance. Ace Hill, Director of Operations, is a member of two supply chain organizations, the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). Chris Bates, Area Director, is a member of the Society for Protective Coatings and the Houston Coatings Society. Larry Wilson, Chief Engineer, is an active member of the SSFI and two Standards Technical Panels for Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL).

Power Climber is represented in the industry by Curt Clayton who serves as Vice President of the Southeast Chapter of the SIA.

SafeWorks is confident that its image and brands are well-represented by these experienced, involved leaders.
