Suspended Platforms

Spider powered suspended work platforms are designed and engineered for dedicated use by building maintenance personnel. These platforms incorporate additional safety features required to meet OSHA 1910.66, sub-part F.

Suspended from Spider davits and sockets, monorails, roof trolleys, and or other permanent rigging devices, these platforms contain Spider manufactured traction hoists and wire winders combining safety and versatility.

Major advantages of the Spider PI Powered Suspended Platform:

•  Two Line (T type) systems with independent fall arrest or Four Line (F type) systems available.

•  All platforms meet or exceed OSHA, ASME, ANSI, IWCA safety standards.

•  Spider designed and manufactured, UL listed, traction hoists power the platform.

•  Available in both flexible modular designs and fixed length designs - purpose built for customer applications.

•  Registered professional engineers' direct design and manufacture of all Spider PI work platforms.

•  Platform components are made of the highest quality high strength aluminum alloy and/or hot-dipped galvanized steel.

STANDARD FEATURES of Spider PI Powered Platforms:

•  Independent controls for both hoists with "hold-to-run" up and down switches.

•  Electro-mechanical overload system prevents platform overload.

•  "NO POWER" emergency controlled descent safety system.

•  Electrical safety limit switches interrupt power in the "UP" direction at pre-determined points on the suspended wire rope.   And interrupt power in the "DOWN" direction when the platform descends to a flat surface or onto an unseen obstruction below.

•  Platform self-leveling system keeps the platform level during operation.

•  Emergency STOP buttons at both hoist locations.

•  3 Phase protection prevents unsafe platform operation.

•  Non-marking wall rollers.

•  Portable fire extinguisher and cable bins.

•  Spider fly decks allow safe access in hard-to-reach building areas.

•  Custom-designed and manufactured wall-rollers prevent damage to sophisticated curtain wall systems.
