As our country prepares for the inauguration of our 45th president, Spider once again provided the suspended powered access solution for the installation of the American flags on the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C.
Using cornice hooks, outrigger beams and counterweights to clear the sandstone cornice of the building, Spider rigged a 40-ft swing stage equipped with Spider traction hoists. With three separate drops, customer Architect of the Capitol was able to precisely position and install the massive flags that serve as the backdrop for the inauguration stage.
Spider is not a stranger to this project. In 2009, we provided similar equipment, services and also training in preparation for President Obama’s inauguration ceremony. Spider delivery and rigging personnel passed FBI background checks to access the site and performed rigorous onsite equipment inspections to ensure safety and security on this sensitive project. The customer’s satisfaction with Spider’s equipment and expertise was evident as they immediately turned to us for this year’s project.
With headquarters in Seattle, 23 operation centers around the country and innovative products made in the U.S., Spider is proud to be a part of important events in our country’s history.
